TNB Mastering Taiping: Building Safer, More Skilled Riders Through Defensive Riding

On 30th October 2025, MASRA Academy conducted the TNB Mastering Taiping Program, a dedicated one-day advanced motorcycle training session at Tasik Taiping. The program was developed specifically to strengthen participants’ technical riding skills while reinforcing the importance of defensive riding in daily operations.

This initiative supported TNB’s continuous effort to improve rider safety, reduce workplace risks, and ensure their team remains confident and well-prepared on the road.

🔧 Program Focus: Advanced Skills for Real-World Riding

The training combined a safety talk with on-ground riding modules led by MASRA Academy’s certified instructors. Participants gained practical exposure to:

1️⃣ Defensive Riding Techniques

Understanding how to anticipate hazards, manage blind spots, maintain safe distance, and react appropriately in unpredictable situations.

2️⃣ Bike Control & Stability

Improving throttle discipline, body positioning, and balance during slow-speed and high-risk manoeuvres.

3️⃣ Cornering Precision

Learning proper entry points, smooth braking, and correct apex techniques to ensure stable and controlled cornering.

4️⃣ Emergency Braking & Reaction Timing

Practising safe braking methods to avoid loss of control during sudden stops.

👥 Participant Growth & Engagement

A total of 22 participants took part in the training, actively engaging in both theory and practical sessions. Throughout the day, riders showed significant improvement in:

• Risk awareness and early hazard detection
• Confidence navigating real-world riding scenarios
• Control during technical drills
• Consistency in applying defensive riding habits

The program successfully nurtured safer, more disciplined riders — aligning with TNB’s safety-first operational standards.
